In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
The first time I can remember understanding what music actually was when I was about 4 years old and really resonating with instruments such as the bass piano and violin. Music was played through out the house when I was growing up its apart of me.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Kanye West, 808s & Heartbreak
Sade, The Best of Sade (Remaster)
Love Deluxe by Sade is one of my favorite albums because of her soothing vocals and beautiful instruments complimenting each other perfectly. It's raw emotions over a smooth baseline and soothings drums. 808s & Heartbreak is another really good album
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Relocate”
This song is special to me because its me being the most open about how I feel towards a girl at the time and it was what I was living at the moment so I feel like this is one of my more authentic songs.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
My most memorable moment in my career so far would be the Jungle Feva events I was able to put together with my co worker and friend Joe Bundy off of just hard work and determination with more to go.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
My bucket list never ends I'm uncomfortable with the idea of being comfortable. there's always more to learn more to improve on I'm just focused on taking it step by step and improving everyday and see where God takes me.
Latest interview from Bold Journey Magazine (2023)
We recently connected with Amari Jones and have shared our conversation below.
Amari, so glad you were able to set aside some time for us today. We’ve always admired not just your journey and success, but also the seemingly high levels of self-discipline that you seem to have mastered and so maybe we can start by chatting about how you developed it or where it comes from?
My self discipline comes from a hunger to do what I love to do and survive. I can’t afford to be undisciplined, the ideas I’ll have tomorrow are some else’s ideas today. The best at his craft is not the most talented, but the one who showed up everyday. Self discipline can be learned once your in control of yourself.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m an artist in all forms, I love to create music, I love to write, paint or sketch there really all one and the same to me. Just different ways to convey a message or feeling. What I feel the most excited about being this early in the year is progress watching goals that I set in late December being achieved and reached. This year you can expect a lot of cool things from me definitely some new music, but don’t be surprised if that come with some new merchandise aswell.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that are important to have is ambition, humbleness and resilience. Ambition to be greater and keep striving for progress. Humbleness to know when to be quiet and just listen and learn, even to teach. Last but not least you’ll need resilience on your journey of twist and turns, and ups and down’s. Nothing is ever easy, sometimes it takes patience it takes time and courage to keep trying.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was allow me to be me. Growing up I learned a lot about myself and the world. A lot of things aren’t fair but that’s part of life my parents instilled some sort of inner gladiator in me. I don’t complain I just do, everyday!
